Our Story

KINISONI was built to create adaptable pieces that empower women and those who support them. The “why”behind it all runs deeper.

I’m Pam (Poonam) Kala, a first-generation American-born Indian woman, deeply rooted in my Kashmiri-Sikh heritage. My upbringing was rich in culture and tradition, but it also came with expectations about how a woman should look, act, and live. For a long time, I tried to fit into those expectations before realizing they no longer worked for me. That realization pushed me to start questioning who I was becoming and who I wanted to be.

That shift is what led me to create KINISONI.

Through adaptable designs, KINISONI creates sustainable, functional clothing that supports women as they move through different moments of their lives without being confined to one version of themselves.

KINISONI is about confidence, adaptability, and evolution in clothing and in life.

Every version of you is welcome here.

Recently featured on the cover of Vanguard Magazine, KINISONI continues to design pieces that move with you, not define you.

GIVING BACK

The values that led me to create KINISONI don’t stop at the clothing.

From the beginning, it felt important that the brand also support those who don’t always have access to the same opportunities or freedom to explore who they are. Each quarter, KINISONI donates a portion of profits to organizations that work toward uplifting and supporting girls across different communities.

Most recently, we were proud to support the Unicorn Island Fund, an organization focused on creating educational opportunities and resources for girls around the world.

Giving back is an important part of how KINISONI operates and grows. It’s something we plan to continue as the brand evolves.
